We work in rural Africa to support local ambulance services.
Why Rural Areas?
Working on ambulances is always challenging. Work in rural areas presents additional challenges including:
- Difficulty locating patient (no road names or house numbers)
- Rough terrain necessitating more frequent vehicle repairs
- Long transport time to hospital
- Shortage of training opportunities
We can't do much about the first three points but our training interventions are targeted at ambulance workers in rural areas to alleviate the fourth point. We believe that our training will improve the way people work on ambulances. This in turn will improve the patient experience and health outcomes.
